Choosing the exact colors and looks that you want for your made-up face can be hard enough when you’re not a professional, but where to even begin when wearing glasses? Prescription eyeglasses typically magnify your eyes through the lenses – particularly if you have a high prescription. Along with the physical enlargement of your eyes through the lenses, just the sheer size of the frames compared to your face adds depth and bulk that breaks up your features and brings attention directly to the glasses. While you want your frames to stand out as a notable fashion accessory, you also want to create a nice balance. So here’s a guide to help you apply the right kind, and right amount of make-up when wearing glasses.
The main thing to note when correlating your make-up needs to your favorite eyeglasses frames is that since attention is already drawn to your frames and eyes, you want to add balance back to your face. So, be sure not to go too heavy on the eye make-up. Especially due to the augmentation that prescription lenses add, you don’t need your eyes battling with the frames; you simply want the whole look to blend smoothly. Don’t use bright, bold colors, and stay away from heavy contouring or dark shading. Keep your eye make-up fairly neutral in colors, and soft in hues – like pastels. The only emphasis you can get away with adding to your eye make-up is to ensure you have a clean lash line – sometimes even bold.
