What Are Moisturizing Contact Lenses?

What are moisturizing contacts, and what can they do for me?

Moisturizing contact lenses have had a lot of research and development put into them in order to ensure that your eyes have the highest possible level of protection. Scientists have been working for a long time to develop these types of lenses, and have come farther than ever before. The biggest reason people quit wearing contacts is because of the discomfort associated with dry eye and itchiness. This is where moisturizing contacts have come a long way, and the research has make incredible advancements in contact lens technology.

The way they have achieved this is through a constant release moisturizing solution that matches up with the lubrication that your eyes naturally produce. Because these lenses have the solution already on them, you aren’t going to have to constantly apply saline solution if you are in places that are smoky or have really dry air, like sports bars, night clubs, or airplanes and airports. There is something about these types of places that will dry out your eyes, and your lenses, leaving you either with headaches or bright red eyes the next morning. Sometimes it even feels like you have fallen asleep when them in.

There are many different companies on the market today that produce moisturizing contacts, but not all of them have put the time and money behind the research that companies like Dailies have. Dailies has been around for a long time, and continues to be a leader in contact lens technology. They have released a new model called the Focus Dailies which are completely revolutionizing the way contact lens wearers feel towards their lenses. These throw away contacts have the built in moisturizing solution I was mentioning earlier and Dailies has come up with a solution to every lens wearer’s problem.

People who wear throw away lenses or temporary lenses know how much of a hassle it can be when the solution dries up on a disposable lens. This is where you either decide to deal with the eye irritation, or throw the lens out, and wait until you can get back for another one. Focus Dailies with AquaRelease technology releases a constant stream of a saline solution mix to ensure that your eyes remain dry. This is incredible for a disposable lens, and something that I really have to commend Dailies on. They’ve done their work on these moisturizing contact lenses!
